La Promesa, meaning "The Promise," represents the commitment made by company patriarch Jose “Pepin” Garcia to his family before leaving his native Cuba. He vowed to prove himself in the cigar world, to make something of himself outside of Cuba, and to honor his family's tobacco legacy.
